Reflexology For Stress

This is a 2 Day Workshop presented by Hagar Basis

REFLEXOLOGY FOR STRESS - A Key to Health & Wholeness

Date: Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th February 2020

Venue: Columbia Hotel, 95-99 Lancaster Gate , London W2 3NS

Course Fee: £260.00

We need a certain level of stress to thrive in life but when stress escalates significantly it disrupts our health and wellbeing and consequently can lead to serious dis-ease. The emerging science of Psycho-Neuro-Immunology (PNI), gives us a deeper understanding of stress and the Mind Body connection. PNI identifies the direct links between psychological distress and illness.

Reflexology is a useful tool not only for tackling high stress levels but also reducing the impact of persistent stress on our bodies. During the 2-day workshop we will learn specific restorative reflexology techniques and approaches to combat stress, its related disorders, and to help initiate bodymind equilibrium. The reflexology practice will encourage our awareness back into the body, highlighting the importance of being centred (grounded).

This hands-on practical workshop will teach a specific bi-manual integrated approach to working the reflexes, enhancing your reflexology practice through experiential learning.

The practical aspect of this workshop will focus on the following:

  1. The intestinal reflex link and the Gut Brain
  2. Endocrine System Balance /HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis)
  3. Working the Spinal reflexes (Autonomic Nervous System ANS)
  4. Vagus Nerve Stimulation
  5. The Toes – Energetic Gateway
  6. The 3 diaphragms of the body
  7. The Psoas Connection

Hagar Basis has evolved and adapted techniques to enhance their therapeutic effectiveness over her 30 years practice, she teaches her own bi-manual integrated approach to working the reflexes. Her foundation has grown from the philosophy and methodology of Tony Porter’s Advanced Reflexology Techniques (ART) of which she has had the privilege to teach for many years.

Osteopathic Reflexology Approach TM (ORA) - Global Fascial Release from the Extremities

Date: 20th, 21st &  22nd March 2020

Course Fee:  £395

Venue : London College of Osteopathic Medicine

Osteopathic Reflexology is a new manual therapy drawing its inspiration from Reflexology, Osteopathy, Fasciology (the scientific study of Fascia), as well as other disciplines such as Acupuncture and Physics. It consists of over 70 techniques on feet, legs, hands, and arms. The purpose of the techniques is to activate in the most effective way possible the auto-bio-regulating systems of the body located in the extremities through the FASCIAL NETWORK.

Florence Cohen is the creator of Osteopathic Reflexology, over 70 global fascial release techniques from the extremities. Osteopathic principles as well as the most recent discoveries regarding fascia are incorporated to a reflexology basis for immediate to fast full body fascial release.

Florence was trained in Reflexology by Hagar Basis and Anthony Porter. She closely worked with osteopaths for years and has been acquiring knowledge on fascia for over 10 years as well as incorporating useful principles from “apparently unrelated” disciplines to better interact with connective tissue.

Course programme

  1. Where Reflexology and Osteopathy meet
    2. What is Fascia? Theory
    3. Practical and technical consequences of all that we know to date about fascia
    4. Revisiting the body briefly – healthy bodies vs bodies in pain. Go back to basics.
    5. Osteopathic Reflexology Approach Techniques: demonstration and supervised practice. Depending on the rhythm of the group between 55 and 60 techniqueswill be explained.

Hanne Marquardt studied with "The Mother of Reflexology", Eunice Ingham in the late 1950′s. Previously to meeting Eunice, Hanne had spent nine years studying her work. Since then she has spent a lifetime refining and developing Reflexology and made some crucial adaptations changing the name of what she practiced and taught to Reflexotherapy.

Orthopedic Reflexology Course

Reflexology Academy is pleased to be hosting one of Greece's leading reflexologists and former Chair of Reflexology in Europe Network (RIEN) Mr. Spiros Dimitrakoulas, to teach his inspiring and unique Orthopedic Reflexology courses.

Orthopedic Reflexology (3 Day Course) 11th , 12th & 13th September 2020

Venue: London College of Osteopathic Medicine, 8-10 Boston Place, London NW1 6QH

Orthopedic Reflexology Course Fee: £395/380*

Orthopedic Reflexology is about utilizing the experience one has obtained in discriminating the reflex areas or the condition of the foot's tissues and then applying the correct technique, the proper amount of pressure for the appropriate amount of time, to achieve the "medium" as taught by Hippocrates in order for nature to heal. Orthopedic Reflexology practitioners use the condition of the tissues of the feet as a guide. Anatomical charts to understand the reflexes, zones, meridians and fascia, as well as to effectively manipulate the feet.

During this 3 day instructive course you will be taught the anatomy of the feet which will include the four muscle layers, connective tissue e.g plantar fascia and retinaculum, the location of the bones of the feet and the route of the tendons and peripheral nerves entering the feet. Participants will be taught how to effectively treat all these structures, and make correlations within their existing knowledge and integrate the new techniques into their own existing practice.

The majority of the course is focused on the practical applications of the Orthopedic Reflexology techniques. There are many structures in our feet and each one requires a unique technique.

Orthopedic Reflexology 3 Day Course

  • • Hippocrates and Galens guide on the effects of "rubbing" Anatripsis
    • Anatomy of the foot
    • Hippocrates 4 pairs of Veins (meridians)
    • Muscle chains/ Zones/ Chinese meridians/ Nerve pathways
    • Orthopedic Reflexology Maps
    • Hippocrates Holistic approach
    • The 'science' behind reflexology
    • Effective techniques for local foot problems such as hallux valgus and hammer toes
    • Explain Pain-understanding the modern concepts
    • Referenced Reflexology History - Why is this important for the outcome of your treatment and for our future as a profession?
