My name is Alison and I have been a reflexologist for 8 years now. I am a mum to two beautiful daughters, wife and nanna to one wonderful little boy (soon to be two). I live and work in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. I have my own holistic therapies business and have been thinking about sharing my passion and love of reflexology for the last few years. I find that reflexology is the most versatile of all the therapies as it can be carried out anywhere and on anyone of any age.
I started my journey at a point in my life when I had the means to train and completely change my career path, however, the year I had committed to taking that step all hell broke loose. I was caring for my mother-in-law who had dementia, my youngest daughter became a young mum and my husband’s health took a dip. I had never been so in demand, and I was studying a completely new, very in-depth course.
That leads me to why I chose the Professional Reflexology Diploma. The course I studied as I said was very in-depth and there was probably too much information. It wasn’t until PR announced that there was a new diploma created by reflexologists for reflexologists that I thought this could be something I could use to teach. It focuses on the practical elements so that it enables students to learn everything needed to go out in the real world and work once they have completed the course.
I have chosen to use local conference room hire for the course as I wanted somewhere with easy access around the East Midlands, and the Holiday Inn at J28 of the M1 is ideal.
I have found over the years that certain reflexologists attract certain types of client and for me my niche (and passion) is pain management (fibromyalgia and other auto-immune conditions predominantly), mental health, and oncology clients (both undergoing treatment and post-treatment). I have undertaken CPD courses in all of these so that I have a better understanding of the conditions and how best to help my clients.
By taking the next step in your reflexology journey, you will learn about all that reflexology has to offer, and I know that my passion and love for this treatment will certainly add to your learning experience.
